When developed in the Simi Hills in the late 1960s, a single road provided the only access to the community from Agoura Hills in neighboring Los Angeles County. Today, Oak Park is the biggest unincorporated community in Ventura County.

Oak Park’s community comes to life every summer for Movies in the Park and Summer Concerts in the Park. Both take place at Oakmont Park, and the events run through August.

Every September, Oak Park hosts an arts festival with over 100 artists selling their work. There is also live music, food trucks, and activities for kids.

Every December, Oak Park hosts a tree lighting ceremony at City Hall with live music, Santa Claus, and hot chocolate.
